Description:
An erect, moderately sized sympodial terrestrial.
Pseudobulb:
Small and round.
Leaves:
3—6 per growth. The leaves are 20—45 cm long, erect to arching, and linear to oblong, with gently wavy margins.
Inflorescence:
The spike is considered laterally. The flowers, which open simultaneously, are arranged in a terminal raceme.
Flowers:
5—12. Individual blossoms are 5—6 cm across. Initially greenish white, they turn yellow with age. The hip is smooth and has no callus. Floral bracts are persistent.
Habitat:
Madagascar, at 1000 m in moist, shady forest areas on Mt. d’Ambre.
