Description:

Velamen absent. Leaf suborbicular, plicate, convolute. Inflorescence terminal. Lip partially enfolding the column, hairy or papillate. Seeds resembling the Goodyera type. Column foot absent. Gynostemium erect, slender somewhat swollen at the apex. Clinandrium apical, expanded, often glandular, enclosing a large part of the anther. Rostellum shelf-like, truncate, bent forward. Viscidium formed of cells with partially macerated walls. Anther incumbent, movable. Connective thick, forming a fleshy pad. Endothecial thickenings of type IV. Pollinia sectile.
