Description:
Herbs terrestrial, without rhizome, with ovoid or globose pseudobulb, with 1--5 terminal leaves. Leaf petiole sheathed; leaf blade narrowly long, with plicate veins, base contracted into a stalk, without nodes, apex acuminate. Flower scape emerging from pseudobulb base, erect, unbranched, base with several sheaths, hairy or subglabrous; raceme sparsely few flowered; floral bracts shorter than pedicel with ovary; flowers gradually opening, medium-sized. Sepals similar, abaxially hairy. Petals similar to sepals and often wider; labellum spurless, adnate to column at base, 3-lobed; lateral lobes suberect, between two lobes often concave and saccate in between, adaxially often hairy; midlobe clawed, with appendage or carene at junction of claw and lateral lobe; column bent forward, subcylindrical, slender, upper part clavately enlarged, both sides with wings, without column foot; rostellum unlobed; pollinia 8, with 4 per group, narrowly obovate, subequal in size, waxy, commonly adhering to 1 triangular viscidia.
