Description:

Leaves plicate. Inflorescence terminal or lateral. Lip hinged or saccate to spurred. Rostellum ligulate to triangular, incumbent or erect. Fleshy hamulus present in Asian genus Cephalantheropsis Guill. Anther incumbent to suberect, 8-chambered. Connective fleshy.

Pollinia 8, of various size and shape: clavate, obovate to ellipsoid, laterally flattened. Caudicles 2 or 8, sometimes basally joined together, sticky.
