Description:
Plants terrestrial, upright, 60-80 cm tall; pseudobulbs close, connical, not angled, attenuate narrowly lengthwise, single leaved; leaf persistent, longly (16-30 cm) petiolate, with the petiole articulate 5-9 cm above the base, limbus widely elliptical (13-19 x 6-8 cm), shortly acute, rounded or very obtuse basally, coriaceous and very finely many-veined, the median of which is sometimes heavily projecting below. Scape rigid, developing prior to the new bulb, peduncie elongated (40-50 cm), with 4 thin, distant sheaths; panicle narrow, more or less branched, the basal branches also bearing several shorter, secondary branches; bracts reddish, acute, generally 3mm. long, not more than one-third the length of the pedicel; flowers small, of a greenish-yellow with several purple splotches and a spot of violet at the base of the labellum. Sepals spatulate-obtuse (7 x 3.5 mm). Petals widely obovate (6 x 5 mm). Labellum quadrilobed, provided with 2 calluses above the base; lateral lobes upright, 2 mm tall and 3 mm wide, with 5 purplish lines; median lobe very diverging, sub rectangular (6 x 4 mm), slightly enlarged apically; spur connical, 6mm. long, heavily pillous interiorly near the oriface. Column 4.5 mm long and 2.5 mm wide, widely canaliculate on the lower surface, the margins, above the center obviously serrate; lateral lobes of the rostellum deltoid, very acute, obliquely converging on the interior and touching at their extremities. Anther provided with a thick, obtuse, posterior appendage; pollina obpiriform, joined by a single, large, retinacle, widely notched apically, the arms of the crescent elongated-filimentous at the margins of the stigma. Pedicel glabrous, 10- 12 mm long.
Habitat:
Lithophytic, in very shady place,, flowering in February.
