Description:
Plants 20-25 cm tall; roots verrucose; pseudobulbs single leaved, oblong (1.5-2cm. x 3-5mm.) and slightly compressed, the most recent (last developed) bearing the inflorescence. Leaf with a thick, wide petiole, 1-5cm. long and articulate at its base to the bulb; limbus widely oval (10-13 x 3-3.5 cm), much wider below the center, very attenuate apically and subacute basally, flat and fleshy-coriaceous. Peduncle clad with several acuminate-distant sheaths; raceme sub loose, 8-12 flowered; bracts lanceolate, equal to or slightly longer than the pedicel. Sepals and petals lingulate-lanceolate, acute, 9 mm long. Labellum (8 x 7 mm) heavily compressed basally, trilobed apically, the lateral lobes triangular-obtuse, the median obreniform and slightly larger, 5mm. wide; base of the labellum provided with 2 lamellas in the form of scales in front of the spur oriface and with 3 median veins, thickened and keel like; spur subglobulous, 2.5 mm long. Pedicel generally 1cm long.
Habitat:
Terrestrial; from tropical, sandy forest, not found near the sea.
