Description:
Plant small, upright, to 2 cm long, with many roots up to 30 cm long. Inflorescences several, up to 2 cm long, 3- to 8-flowered; bracts sheathing, small; pedicel slender, terete, 10 mm long. Flowers clear green with a white spur, small; dorsal sepal cucullate, broadly obovate or oboval-elliptic, 2.5 mm long, 1.5 mm wide; lateral sepals oblique, elliptic-oval, apiculate, 2.8 mm long, 2 mm wide; petals oblong-elliptic, concave, 2.5 mm long, 1 mm wide; lip narrowly elliptic or ligulate, acute, 3 mm long, 1 mm wide; spur cylindric and slender throughout, 8 mm long.
Etymology:
Named in honour of Swedish botanist Lars Jonsson, who made an important monographic study of the genus Microcoelia.
Habitat:
Epiphyte in forest; flowering in October.
