Description:
Plants with the look and flowers of Vanilla madagascariensis; bracts oval-deltoid shorter than the pedicel, flowers of a vivid yellow, with the throat brilliant orange, labellum tinted basally with brown and the hairs of a vivid red. Sepals narrowly (6.5 x 2.2-2.4 cm), oblong obtuse and slightly, attenuate toward the base. Petals oval-oblong (5.5 x 3.3 cm), obtuse and with numerous veins slightly undulate flexuous. Labellum longly joined to the column, then very widely obovate-flabelliform not divided and very obtuse apically, with the front margins sometimes undulate pleated; upper surface not papillous, but sprinkled with hairs on it lower half; veins numerous, very sinuate-flexuous in the lower half of the labellum, sub straight lengthwise Column 2.3 cm tall. Staminodes margins entire. Stigmas bidentate apically. Pedicel glabrous, 6 cm long generally.
Habitat:
In seasonally dry, deciduous woods on sandy soils at elevations around 200 meters.
