Tylostigma perrieri Schltr., Beih. Bot. Centralbl. 34(2): 298 (1916).
Description:
Plants to 20-35cm. tall, blackish when dried; 2 tubers narrowly-oblong; stem with 3 leaves, developed in the lower half, bearing 3-4 taller sheaths with an acute, narrow limbus. Leaves narrowly linear (5-10 cm. x 1-2.5 mm.). Rachis 6-12 cm. long, very loosely many flowered; bracts narrow, acute, the lowers longer than the flowers; flowers white. Median sepal oblong (2.1 x 0.9 mm.), very obtuse, with a single vein slightly visible; laterals oblique, very obtuse, without the dorsal vein. Petals widely oval (2 x l mm.), very obtuse, vein obsolete. Labellum very thick, widely oval-deltoid (2 x 1.5 mm.), obtuse, subcordate basally, provided basally with 2 rounded calluses and between these calluses with 2 fulva, circular speculum, separated by a small thickening, then above with the speculum reniform. Column 1-1.3 mm. long; staminodes slightly spatulate, very small, but obvious. Rostellum trisinuate, the lateral teeth obtuse, the median thickened medially. Ovary 2-3 mm long.
Habitat:
Marshes, from 1500-2000 m. alt.; flowering, April-July.
