Description:
Terrestrial saprophytic herb 3-9 cm tall; roots thick, to 2,5 cm long, 0,5 cm Ø; stem glabrous, covered with overlapping acute sheaths to 3 cm long; flowers 1-3, subcapitate, 2 cm long, lilac; pedicel and ovary 2-3 cm long; bracts 2,5-3 cm long; sepals oblong-lanceolate, 11-17x3-7 mm; petals obliquely oblong-lanceolate, 9-13x3-6 mm; lip 13-17x9-14 mm, shallowly saccate at base, apex equally 3-lobed, with prominent midrib.
Habitat:
Primary evergreen forest in undergrowth in leaf litter, on well drained soil; mesophilous forest; savanna.
