Description:
An erect slender herb, 10-20 cm. high; leaves 2, flat on the ground, broadly ovate or reniform, glabrous unequal in size, 1,3-2,5 cm. long; scape straight hispidulous, the raceme laxly 4-9 fl., flowers subsecund spreading; bracts ovate cuspidate ciliate, half as long as the ovary; sepals ovate or oblong-ovate, obtuse, 0,2 cm. long; petals ascending ovate, 0,4-0,5 cm. long; lip flabelliform in outline, 3 fid, the lateral lobes 1-2 fid, the intermediate longest, all obtuse or truncate, rough below the middle, 0,5-0,7 cm. long, spurred at base, the spur arcuate-recurved acute, shorter than the ovary; clinandrium subquadrate, rounded at the apex; pollinia attached to separate glands.
Habitat:
Is found in deep sandy soils or rock pavements from Namaqualand and the western Karoo to Swellendam, South Africa.
