Description:
Plant erect, 27–30 cm high, with a thick, slightly flattened stem and thick roots. Leaves ca. 10, loriform, conduplicate at the base, flattened above, emarginate at the apex, 27–30 cm long, 3–4 cm wide. Inflorescences to 40 cm long; peduncle with 2 short sheaths, 25 cm long; pedicel with ovary 1.5 cm long. Flowers 10–15, white; sepals oblong, obtuse, 18–24 mm long, 7–9 mm wide; petals spathulate, apiculate, narrow at the base, 22–27 mm long, 14–17 mm wide; lip with 4 rounded lobes, with hyaline hairs on the inner surface in front of thespur entrance, 25–32 mm long, 20–30 mm wide; spur wide at the mouth, funnel-shaped at first, then narrowing to the middle and subcylindric below, 15 mm long.
Habitat:
In coastal, lowland and humid, evergreen, montane forests at elevations of sealevel to 2000 meters.
Cultivation:
As given for the genus, hot to cool growing epiphyte.

Madagascar (eastern region).
