Plants 35-45 cm tall rhizome thick (3-5 mm in diameter); roots white (2-4 mm in diameter); pseudobulbs single leaved, small, appressed, clothed in long, reddish or brown sheaths which are elongated with the petiole. Leaf rigid, uptight; petiole very long (15-20 cm), articulate above the center, canaliculated above, articulation irregularly denticulate; limbus coriaceous, small, lanceolate (6-8 cm x 12- 13mm ), shortly attenuate and compressed basally with the petiole, attenuate-acute in the apical portion, pale green with darker stripes and patches when live, paler below. Inflorescence 30-40 cm tall, twice an long as the bulb and its leaf, developing prior to the formation of the new bulb; peduncle only slightly longer than the raceme, with 3-4 sheaths and the same number of internodes, the sheaths thin, appressed and obtuse, generally covering the lower fifth of the node; cluster simple or provided with a short, loose, basal branch, loosely 17-22 flowered, flowers 6-15 mm apart; bracts very short (1.5-2.5 mm), acute. Flowers pale yellowish-green when live, with lines of red on the petals and lower lobes of the labellum, the base of the labellum white, provided with a red spot at the bane of the middle lobe. Sepals 3 veined, narrow, obtuse, 6-7 mm long, the median slightly spatulate, to 2.2 mm apically, the laterals slightly longer, not or only slightly wider above the middle and base. Petals elliptical (7 x 2.2 mm), obtuse, narrower than the sepals, with 3 obscurely branching veins. Labellum 4-lobed, widest between the apical lobes, which are (6-7 mm) long, without basal calluses but papillous, the papilla forming a triangular area at the bane of the labellum, then contracted toward the middle and enlarged again at the base of the apical lobes, with 3 obsolete veins running through the papilla; lateral lobes reduced to simple rounded areas on the labellum, provided with 3 obliquely reddish tinted veins (when dried); frontal lobes larger (3 x 2.5 mm apically), thick, sub obovate, rounded and crenulate apically, very divaricuose and with no visible veins, the sinus separated by a wide, median apicule; spur straight, 2 mm long, attenuate from its very wide base (l mm) to its very obtuse apex. Column 4 mm long, slightly attenuate, provided with a long (1 .5 mm) wide (0.8 mm) foot, just above the insertion of the labellum. Anther wide (1.1 mm), with a traverse rear appendage, twice as wide (0.4mm) as long, Pedicel 10-15 mm long.
Terrestrial; from rugged, shady, limestone areas; tropical forest from 300 m alt,, flowering in January.
